Ginger
Hi, my name is Ginger. I found my forever home in July 2004. It was a bit of a rough
road, but worth the ride. I was dropped off at my foster mom’s by my original
owners. I guessed I peed a little too much. I thought I had found a new home
when I was adopted, but I guess we just weren’t a match. I found myself back at
my foster mom’s.
Fortunately, there was another loving family waiting for me. My forever home is with
Mom and my big sister, Sassy. We snuggle, play, and fight just like real sisters.
Mom calls us “her girls,” and says we’re her “kids with fur coats.” I am spoiled rotten,
but only with love. I love to go for walks with Mom and Sassy. Car rides are fun, too.
We all sleep together in our king-size bed. Of course we also have little beds
throughout the house to use during the day. One of my favorite activities is squirrel
watching. We have a couple of squirrels in our backyard. I can sit for hours as the
squirrels and I have a chess match. I am also an accomplished escape artist. Mom had to brick in the bottom of the fence
because I have been known to dig out a time or two.
Sassy and I have paraded twice at the Dachsie Picnic in Danville, IL.
We even won an award last year! We also won an award for best coordinated costumes
at Mom’s fitness center. I’ve had a chance to stay in a hotel twice. I have also
been an alumni representative for MWDR at the Chicagoland Pet Expo. Can you believe
I’m even a main character in a book my mom wrote about me? Her first and second
graders know all about me.
Like I said, I am spoiled rotten! Thanks, Bonnie, for finding me my forever home.
P.S. You’re lucky Mom could type this, as both Sassy and I are curled up in her
lap, with the laptop balancing precariously.
