Volunteer with MWDR

You may not have the time to rescue dachshunds or foster them in your home. If you still wish to help, volunteering with MWDR may be perfect for you. MWDR always needs volunteers, and we welcome new faces, energy and enthusiasm!

Here are some ways you can help:

• Staff rescue booths at events. This is usually a minimum two-hour commitment for any event for which you volunteer.

• Create handmade items, such as dog bandanas, dog blankets/beds, dog sweaters, note cards and woodcrafts, to sell at MWDR events. Do you have another idea? Let us know!

• Donate new and used items that MWDR can resell, raffle or auction.

• Donate your unwanted items to MWDR’s annual garage sales held each summer.

• Host your own fund raising event to benefit MWDR’s rescued dachshunds.

• Transport rescued dachshunds from shelters to foster homes or from foster homes to adoptive families. If you are able to help with transports, you will be contacted via e-mail when your help is needed. Most transports require driving at least two to four hours round trip.

• Come up with your own idea. Do you have a talent not listed that you think would benefit MWDR? Let us know!
