I lost my beloved 8 year old mini-dachshund tragically in September 2011. I started a search for another companion and after spending a lot of time and one almost adoption that fell through I found myself driving to Slinger, Wisconsin from Woodbury, MN on October 27, 2011 and bringing home a delightful, darling, energetic little boy named Duke.
His profile said his behavior was unknown around cats, but it was quickly known when we got home. He delighted in chasing the cat and barking at him, which lasted about a month and then they decided to be best buddies. He walks miles and miles with me when the weather cooperates here and he LOVES romping in the snow!
He goes to doggie daycare once a week and as the smallest dog there, gets along great with all his friends and has chosen one white German Shepard as his best bud.
There are no toys with any stuffing left in his toy box. He is a huge joy in my life and loves to cuddle and snuggle under the covers in bed. I love this little guy so much and recommend rescue to anyone I encounter that it is looking for a dog of any breed!
